Schonstedt Helps Accelerate Demining Efforts in Lebanon

The Schonstedt Humanitarian Demining Initiative (SHDI) recently deployed 30 GA-72Cd Magnetic Locators to Lebanon. These vital tools will support humanitarian deminers working tirelessly to save lives and return contaminated land to communities.

A Lifeline for Lebanon

GA-72Cd Magnetic Locators are effective in rugged and dense terrain.

Lebanon faces an urgent and growing threat from unexploded ordnance (UXO), particularly in southern villages where recent clashes and decades of conflict have left fields, roads, and homes littered with deadly explosives (Source: UNDP). The 30 GA-72Cd magnetic locators will empower local and international demining teams to:

  • Clear cluster munitions and other UXO that endanger farmers and families.
  • Speed up recovery in one of the world’s most heavily contaminated countries.
  • Help prevent further casualties and maiming.

Doubling the Impact

When you purchase a locator through the SHDI program, Schonstedt donates a second unit to deminers on the ground. Since 2007, over 650 locators have been deployed to conflict zones in more than 30 nationsand this recent shipment reflects our commitment to clearing the way for peace.

How You Can Help

Demining is a race against time. Governments, NGOs, and private partners can amplify this effort by funding magnetic locator purchases – matched 1:1 by Schonstedt.
