NEW Magnetic Locating video

It’s kind of amazing that, after 60+ years, and over 300,000 locators deployed around the world, Schonstedt Instrument Company continues to employ the same field-tested design principles and magnetic engineering know-how to manufacture the world’s leading line of underground locators. But the science of magnetic locating, which comes as second nature to us industry experts, is not easily explained in words or static pictures. Working directly with video animators, the Schonstedt engineering team has produced a video that covers all the magnetic locating bases, step by step, in just over 3 minutes. Enjoy! NEW Locating Sondes Video

This animated video offers a step-by-step guide to using sondes (or “beacons”) with Schonstedt pipe & cable locators to find blockages in underground pipes. Click here for the video.

New Video and White Paper on Utility Marker Locating

Many municipalities and utility companies routinely install color-coded magnetic markers on hard-to-locate lines like polyethylene pipe or fiber. With a Schonstedt magnetic locator, you can pinpoint these markers in less time than it takes to setup most utility locators! Watch as Berntsen International Vice President Bill Rushing shows you how easy and precise utility location can be. Read the White Paper by Angus W. Stocking, L.S.: “Faster, Stronger, More Precise: An Overview of Magnetic Markers and Magnetic Location in Utility Marking”

Schonstedt Scholarship makes a Difference

“I recently received the Schonstedt Scholarship through the American Congress of Surveying and Mapping and wanted to formally thank you for donating the funds for this scholarship. Scholarships like this are of great help when paying for tuition and expenses. I fund my own education so scholarships make it possible for me to attend school, and are greatly appreciated. I will continue to work hard as I have in the past to accomplish my goals of obtaining a degree in Surveying and Engineering from Michigan Tech, and enhancing the perception of the surveying profession and the American Congress of Surveying…
