River Recovery: A Surveyor Responds to Crisis

On July 16th, 2005 a silver BMW ran off the road and plunged into the rain swollen Cahaba River near Hoover, Alabama. The driver, Brandee Skinner, managed to escape, but her two children – Ashlyn, 5, and Bryson, 18 months – were still in the car. It would take more than a day and the assistance of two local land surveyors with Schonstedt magnetic locators, before they were found.
