Ukraine Demining Teams Receive Schonstedt Magnetic Locators for UXO and ERW Clearance

In co-ordination with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), and as part of its Humanitarian Demining Initiative, Schonstedt® deployed 30 GA-72Cd Magnetic Locators to Mines Advisory Group (MAG) Ukraine to support frontline teams clearing landmines, unexploded ordnance (UXO), and explosive remnants of war (ERW) in the Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions.

Schonstedt magnetic locators help MAG’s demining teams detect buried ferrous metal objects as part of their UXO clearance operations with the goal of safely and efficiently returning land to communities for rebuilding and agriculture.

Making Land Safe Again

In collaboration with MAG Ukraine and UNMAS, Schonstedt’s magnetic locators contribute towards the identification and removal of UXO and ERW from land in the Kharkiv and Mykolaiv regions for the safety of the local communities and so that families can return home, and farmers can safely cultivate their fields once again.

Schonstedt remains committed to supporting these humanitarian demining activities by providing essential tools used to help save lives and restore land for peaceful use.

How You Can Help

Demining land contaminated by UXOs and ERWs is a race against time. Governments, NGOs, and private partners can help increase these clearance efforts by funding magnetic locator purchases—matched 1:1 by Schonstedt.

Purchase a GA-72Cd for humanitarian demining. For every unit purchased to be donated for humanitarian demining as part of our collaboration with UNMAS and/or the US State Department, Schonstedt will donate a second locator in your name to demining teams working to clear land contaminated by UXOs and ERWs.

*Please note that at date of publication, the initiative is active only for purchases placed within the USA and that all humanitarian demining shipments comply with applicable U.S. export regulations, including end-use and end-user screening requirements.
